Jimmy Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 "for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development." However, this description is only part of what Jimmy Carter has accomplished during his post-presidential years:
*He has been a public supporter of dictators and wannabes like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.
*He was a supporter and an apologist for the now-deceased Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat.
*He has taken an active interest in thwarting the policies of sitting presidents. For example, in the days leading up to the first Gulf War, Carter wrote to the U.N. Security Council, urging world leaders to oppose U.S. requests to authorize military action against Iraq. Carter has also been outspoken in his criticism of the current war in Iraq, and does not hesitate to take that criticism to foreign shores.
*His anti-Semitic, anti-Israel stance is well-documented (even in his own writings), although he continues to deny it.
With the above criteria in mind, here are the categories for the First Annual Jimmah Awards:
1. Worst anti-Semite
2. Worst American anti-American
3. Worst Foreign anti-American
4. Biggest Hypocrite
5. Most Willing to Ignore Reality
6. Most Willing to Embrace Dhimmitude
7. Lifetime Achievement in Moonbattery
With the exception of numbers 2 and 3, all categories are open to anyone from any country or walk of life. The only requirement is that a nominee's qualifications be readily documentable.
Nominations for all categories are open from now until end-of-day Friday, February 23. The winners will be announced on Friday, March 2. Either send an e-mail or put your nominations in the comments section. For now, I am the only judge, although I'm hoping to get a few other bloggers to hop on board.
I'm also working on the Jimmah Award design, and will post it when it's ready for viewing.
Let the worst man (or woman) win!
*These awards have no monetary value, and are in no way affilited with or endorsed by Jimmy Carter or the Carter Foundation.

My nominee for the First Annual Award is:
James Earl Carter, Jr. - the man after whom the award is named.
Runners up can be: Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Chuck Hagel (have to be bipartisan, don't we) and Arlen Specter.

So many worthy candidates. I hope you will also acknowledge first, second, and more runner ups, who also deserve their share of shame.
'I'm no American'-Carl Levin is one of my first thoughts for most of the categories. He would have been certainly have been a better Saddam human shield than even Sean Penn.

I would like to throw in my nominations.
Worst anti-Semite: Mamoud Ahmadinejhad
Worst American anti-American: Rev. Fred Phelps, for organizing protests stating that the death U.S. Troops have been God's punishment for things happening in the United States.
Worst Foreign anti-American: Hugo Chavez. Anyone who has the nerve to come to America and spit in our face deserves this award
Biggest Hypocrite: John Edwards, for campaigning he is "helping the little people" while making riches as one of the many trial lawyers who have been raising health care costs.
Most Willing to Ignore Reality: AARP, for not waking up to the fact that Social Security is going to die very soon.
Most Willing to Embrace Dhimmitude: Great Britain. With the Radicalised Muslim population growing in Britain it's only a matter of time.

I hereby ammend my nomination for "Worst American Un-American", and agree with GOP. Scratch Cindy Sheehan and insert Fred Phelps.
Also, he's right about Great Britain being "Most Willing To Embrace Dhimmitude". It was my first choice but a) I wasn't sure if whole Countries were allowed as nominees and, b) I couldn't find the right words to justify the nomination at the time. Thanks, GOP!

How about all you bloggers who accused the media of exaggerating how bad conditions were in Iraq? I noticed you don't accuse your friends in the Bush administration of doing the same thing now that they're saying things are going badly. Why the difference?

He probably doesn't deserve the peanut, but Brecke Girl Edwards should at least get a solid nomination in the anti-Semite category for his recent comments at a Hollywood fundraiser. Basically that Israel is the greatest current threat to world peace.

For (1) Worst Anti-Semite, let me name: All the jumbled member nations of the UN, who, year after year, have attacked Israel, while ignoring the disaster that is Palestine and the Arab Middle East. From the antisemites of South Africa to the rest of the 3rd world, theirs has been an immoral stand born of racism, greed, and evil.
For (2) Worst American anti-American, it's difficult to single out one miscreant, but I will go with the New York Times. Along with the Associated PRess, they have deliberately lied about the Iraqi war to Americans and distorted the truth routinely in almost every other avenue. The Times has actively moved against its own government, which is sedition, except as its editors sneer, "Who will guard us? we are above any law."
For (3) Worst Foreign anti-American, I will choose
(with 6 Most Willing to Embrace Dhimmitude) the controlling leftist elites of Europe, who choose to play games with atomic fire rather than face up to global responsibility. Mr. Chirac, perhaps (4) the biggest Hypocrite, is still in power all these years later, after arming Saddam illegally and then continuing post-Saddam to encourage Islamic fascism in the Middle East. What does France care about the fate of anyone except her own interests? What indeed does Europe; how has she acted to make the world safer from terrorism? Oh, you're right: ask Ken Livingstone in Britain and George Galloway: attack America! The rulers of Europe deliberately embrace evil and Islamofascism. And attack America, which has protected them far too long.
7 Lifetime Achievement in Moonbattery is easy. It's the entertainment snobs--Hollywood, TV, the music industry-- who, ill-educated and below norm in intelligence, graced with money for work which is almost thievery, deign to tell US what WE should THINK about the world. Imagine any of them WORKING for a living.. or having to be responsible for their actions.
Whether the Yankee Buzzards; Michael Moore; or Diane Sawyer, robed in her Dhimmitude having tea with the President of Iran, they represent the stupidity and dregs of America to the world.
Would that one or all of them could labor a day in Iraq caring for our country! When Hollywood obscenities meet an IED, guess who wins?

4th best President? Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt-- GW Bush..
I'm sure that's the 4 Kurt had in mind. Yep, Kurt, you're Right. There are very few politicians today that carry the moral stature of GW.
But many full of the evil malice of Jimmy Carter--
including the Clintons, Mad Jack Murtha.. (see all the nominations above)
