Mayor Daley: Latest Stooge of Right Wing Conspiracy

Well, that's what Dickie Durbin thinks. The good Democratic senator from Illinois believes the furor over his statement likening our soldiers to Nazis et al. was really "an orchestrated right-wing attack," highlighted by the guy from FOX News who "just screams the same question over and over and over again to the point where the other reporters are, my God." He also blames Robert Novak for drawing Daley into the fray...as if Daley can't think for himself. John Ruberry over at Marathon Pundit has the story. (He also has some interesting information regarding the resignation of the head of Saddam's defense committee...and guess who's in charge now?)

Politics today means you don't have to be held responsible for what you say; you can just blame the other side for "taking your words out of context" or "misunderstanding" you.
