France Gets Tough

Who'da thunkit? From Reuters via Yahoo:

France said on Thursday it would be ready to use nuclear weapons against any state that carried out a terrorist attack against it, reaffirming the need for its nuclear deterrent.

Deflecting criticism of France's costly nuclear arms program, President Jacques Chirac said security came at a price and France must be able to hit back hard at a hostile state's centers of power and its "capacity to act."

Of course it wasn't mentioned if France would consider a preemptive strike against a known threat.

Could it be that French leaders are finally taking their heads out of the sand?

I wonder if France is going to over-compensate for their lack of action over the past few years?

France is trash-talkin'. It's all they have. They only go to war for chocolate these days.

Seriously, though- militarily, France is as useless as teats on a boar hog, and her leaders are so crooked they need to screw their pants on. In 50 years, France won't even exist.

Assuming that France has nukes, I wonder at what point will they hand them over to someone else, as the Muslim influence grows, or will someone else have to go commando and take out France's nukes.

Gee, a couple of generations ago, didn't Winston Churchill have to order the destruction of a large portion of the French Navy, rather than let it fall into the hands of Germany?
