This Is Cartoon Fatwah

OK, the call has gone out and I am responding. Here, for your viewing pleasure, are the cartoons that Muslims in Europe and elsewhere are calling for blood over. This is part of the blogburst being sponsored by Michelle Malkin and others.

A disclaimer: I do not think that it's "fun" to offend the religious sensibilities of others. I do not go out of my way to do so. (Think "Piss Christ" and the lovely painting of the Madonna covered in elephant dung, both of which I find offensive myself.) Perhaps these cartoons are in bad taste. But, they're out there. Had Muslims not made such a stink, I doubt many outside of Denmark would have even heard of them, let alone seen them. But they've crossed the line in threatening death to the cartoonists and other kinds of violence. This is not the way civilized people behave. The so-called Religion of Peace is not exactly making a case for that moniker. Where are the moderate Muslims we keep hearing about? Why aren't they protesting this outrageous behavior? Because they are either afraid or they silently agree with them. The free world comes with a price, and part of that price is the right to offend someone else. It's not right, but it happens. And we have to act like adults and deal with it in an adult manner.

Issuing fatwahs is not the way.

Without further ado, the cartoons. Click on each one for a larger view.

I'm curious, too, as to why Michael Moore hasn't said anything about this. He compared the insurgents (read: Islamic terrorists) in Iraq to America's Minutemen. Does he have an opinion? Or is he too busy tooting his horn about his upcoming mockumentary on American healthcare (and promising bit parts to people who offer dirt on healthcare institutions).

Just wondering...

Sorry. Hidden email, but we R being hit hard. :-)
Nice to C that you have shown the Cartoons. The islamisk have being showing sketchets and cartoons for many years about the jeewes and the western. ( I am from Denmark so please forgive the poor speelling but I hope U can understand or at leats correct)My muslims colleges in DK says that this has gone out of proportions. They can't see any offendind in the cartoons and it is only af few max 1000 muslims in Denmmrk that are insulted by the cartoons. The Iman that has started all this is Abu Laban. His son was dismissed from a colleged because he was to extramistic. Somesinthing he has learned from his father. The the Danish Paper Jylland Posten started an articel about his son and finally after 4-5 month Abu Lban seem to have got his revange. Have to say that Abu Laban has been in Denmark for more than 20 Y and will not learn danish. On TV he says don't boycut Denmark on Danish TV but on Arabic TV he says Boycut Denmark. This Iman is showwing the real Islam. He can't be trusted.
Even USA seems to support him now. Well. Denmark and USA has always been friends. Not any more it seems. Tell that to to govermentment. We have allways been one of US strongest supporets in Europe. Don't loose that because U bend in the dust. We maybe R a small countryb ut we have influence

We are with you in spirit. Stand strong! And the State Department doesn't speak for all Americans; I doubt it even speaks for President Bush. Please remember that many of us are behind you 100%. I wish I could do more...

The moderate Muslims are the ones that only want to kill the cartoonists, as opposed to calling on al Qaeda to kill as many Danes as possible, as some have been doing. Religion of Peace? That is a sick joke and always has been.
