Posted by: Pam at January 27, 2007 05:12 PMI guess what I resent is not having better choices.
I mean (to quote Peggy Lee)'Is that ALL there is!?"
Hillary is second rate; the other female choices worse. A motley crew. Surely feminism can do better. Am I wrong to want a Margaret Thatcher or a Golda Meir? But I will have to settle for a Jessica Simpson?! Or Barbara Boxer.
CSPAN offered a long interview with Phyllis Schlafly some months ago. One call in from Florida informed the feisty pundit that caller would hate her until the caller's dying day. That tough minded veteran replied, 'indeed, you are troubled to no good avail.' I am glad to Schlafly's mindset continued in the blogosphere.
Good, tough fighters--whether in Iraq or on the homefront-- women of courage and ideals, are what this country lives by.
