Gore Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
It looks like Al Gore's bloviating has finally paid off, and he was nominated for the prestigious prize by Norwegian lawmaker Boerge Brende.
"Al Gore, like no other, has put climate change on the agenda. Gore uses his position to get politicians to understand, while Sheila works from the ground up," Brende said.
Sheila is Canadian Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier, who was also nominated by Brende and Heidi Soerensen.
Gore certainly has put climate change on the agenda, but he is unwilling to entertain different theories than the one he puts forth: that man is solely responsible for what he believes is a global catastrophe. Calling anyone with a differing opinion a "global warming denier," Gore's activism seems to be more about controlling the actions of society than saving it. (It doesn't seem to count for him, though...)
And if he's lucky, he'll get rewarded for his efforts. Of course, getting the Nobel Peace Prize wouldn't be nearly as exciting as winning the Oscar for Best Documentary (which is highly likely, given Hollywood's leftist bent). But we must take our excitement where we can...

Highly inappropriate for this lisping fool to receive ANY kind of award, least of all an Oscar (which supposedly rewards ACTUAL talent) or the Nobel Peace Prize (aka the Jimmy Carter Memorial award).

What is it that these prizes increasingly seem that way? The Left anoints whom it will.
A good percentage of Mr. Gore's public comments have been less than sane (as I previously commented). He may simply come off that way in public. Or perhaps it's more.
Posted by: jng at February 1, 2007 05:59 PMOnce they awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Yassir Arafat, it was clearly evident that this portion of the prize was meaningless. The worst part is if Algore gets it (the Oscar and the Nobel), he may just ride it to the White House.
Oy vey! Yeah, I am a Methodist, but sometimes that phrase just says it all.
