Scientologists Move In on Virginia Tech

My, my, it doesn't take the moneygrubbing vultures long...they've set up one of their famous yellow tents about 100 yards from where students are signing memorial boards for those slain.

Radar has the details.

Scientology, founded by second-rate science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, eschews any kind of medication (especially psychological), dictates totally silent childbirth, and claims that the ills we suffer are caused by the souls of mass murdered aliens.

Just the sort of helpful folks you want milling around vulnerable people in the aftermath of a tragedy.

Don't Christians do the same thing, and have equally bizarre beliefs?

Sigh.... Why must they be?

paul;

Most of the Christians that have descended upon Blacksburg were there to offer solace and fellowship to those that wished.

Then there are the charlatans, Fred Phelps' clan from the Wedgewood Baptist "Church" who are planning on protesting at some or all of the funerals. I think I would prefer Scientologists to the Phelps inbreeds.

As for the mass-murdered aliens, who is responsible for that?

paul - no Christians do NOT do what the Scientologists are doing. I will be posting later today on my FIRST HAND experiences with these p.o.s. cultists when I lived in Los Angeles. They are just plain terrifying - particularly since they now have so many hi-profile loons supporting their cause.

Gayle -- would you mind a link for this? I'm curious, especially because while I've certainly had the "hard sell" from many well-meaning Christians, I've never encountered it from the Scientologists.
