Christopher Hitchens Slices and Dices George Tenet's Book

Zing!

As for his bawling and sobbing claim that faced with crisis in Iraq, "the administration's message was: Don't blame us. George Tenet and the CIA got us into this mess," I can say, as one who has attended about a thousand postmortems on Iraq in Washington, that I have never, ever, not once heard a single partisan of the administration say anything of the kind. The White House may have thought that it could count on the CIA to present some sort of solidity in a crisis but, as Sept. 11 had already proved, more fool the White House.

I know I wouldn't want to be on the other end of Hitchens' poisonous pen.

More on Tenet over at the The Strata-Sphere.

I love that man! He's a socialist and a drunk (he is always drunk), but he's one of the best debaters I've ever seen.

I wish he would just run on the Democratic ticket so he could be at the debates to go toe to toe.

He's been the best guest on Bill Maher so far.

Did you hear about how dumb Richard Belzer was this week?

Just finished reading the USA Today opinion piece on Tenet's book, and true to form they not only defended the content - they even helped him rewrite the inaccuracies!

-"When Pentagon adviser Richard Perle, shortly after 9/11, talked of making Iraq pay, Tenet only thought - but didn't say out loud - that the accusation was wildly off-base."-

I wish I had someone covering my back as well as USA Today does for enemies of the adminisrtation.
