Television Viewing Habits Shed Light on Immigration Debate

That's the name of this very interesting post by Aaron over at Lifelike Pundits. As we all know, Mexicans and other illegal aliens are dying to assimilate into American culture. Take a look at what they're watching to see just how much.

After all, we're all Americans...

And can any of us say we are surprised by this? With signs in stores written in English and Spanis, with most voice-prompt systems providing a choice for English or Spanish, there is really no incentive for Hispanic immigrants to learn English, is there? They want to recreate their own societies within our own. And I have no problem with them holding onto to their traditions and heritage, but NOT at the expense of those of us born here or those who emigrated legally.

Right on, Kris! I wish we could have politicians that would espouse such common sense.

America needs to be reacquainted with the concept of assimilation - our "melting pot" society.

LOL, steve. It is a total shame that Latin Americans are not getting the educational benefit of "America's Got Talent".

I'd also like to point out that there are only 3 shows on the Latino list, and two of them are soap operas -- I'd like to see the actual list of 10. This actually points to the fact that most Latino men don't watch much television, especially during the day, as latino men have an extremely low unemployment rate in this country.

so wait, this doesn't answer my questions.

are latinos smarter than a 5th grader?

haha.

"I wish we could have politicians that would espouse such common sense."

Dare to dream! Politicians and common sense - now THERE's an oxymoron.
