Stealing the Jobs Americans Want to Do
So much for illegal immigration not hurting anyone. Christi over at Common Sense America has a post up about Terry Funderberk, whose small business of installing copper on new homes last year grossed him $176K. This year, business is way down. Can you guess why? Yep. Competition from construction firms that hire cheap illegal labor.
One day, Terry had enough and went "on strike," as it were. And he didn't receive too much sympathy from the law. There are plenty of photos too.
Absolutely unbelievable.
But then, those who claim "illegals do the jobs Americans won't do" have jobs that the unskilled laborers who sneak over the border can't do.
Andrea Shea-King plans to interview Terry on August 5. Details here.

Wow - this one really fires you up, doesn't it. Makes me want to go down to S.C. and stand up for this man. This one will be interesting to watch.
Posted by: Kris, in New England at July 27, 2007 07:44 AMThanks, Pam, for mentioning this man's plight. I suspect there are many people in similar circumstances around the nation.
Posted by: THIRDWAVEDAVE at July 27, 2007 11:55 AMThis fellow is going to need help to defray the legal expenses. Anything your readers can shake loose from their pockets, wallets,or checkbook will help.
He is, after all, representing everyman. His win is a win for all of us.
Thanks for the mention, Pam. Radio show plugs always appreciated!

Here's a story that happened to my daughter yesterday at the Dodgingtown Market with her 26 hour old car. A "landscaping" truck driven by a hispanic man with 3 other men in the front seat of a 4x4 pickup backed into my daughters car. They sped away from the accident and was not caught. The insurance agent told us that if the police did not find the truck and driver the $500 deducible would come out of my pocket. A friend of mine once told me that illegals are told not to stop for accidents they are in or cause because if they do they will be sent home. I am sending an invoice for the deducible to Senetors Dodds office for reimbursment. Reason for the invoice is because of the gutless way this issue has been handled for the past 30 years!

Any idea what the color/model of the truck was? Did the back of the truck hit the car, or was it the front? Was any paint removed from the car that could still be on the front or rear of the truck.
In other words, we can keep our eyes open around town. We're Newtown also.
