Rovin' Down The River
Everyone and their mother is talking - and blogging - about the "Big Story" of the day: Bush strategist Karl Rove's decision to resign at the end of this month. Since I can barely put a sentence together, I figured I would mention it in my own unique way . . .
The Top Ten Reactions to Karl Rove's Resignation
10. The Chicago Cubs will win the World Series.
9. Matt Lauer shaved Katie Couric's head on live TV.
8. Philly's homicide rate actually stalled.
7. Rosie O'Donnell kissed a man . . . and liked it!
6. The one person who watches "Lil' Bush" shot his television.
5. Dick Cheney became Google's top search for "Evil Conservative."
4. Pam's vacation is effectively ruined.
3. The New York Times printed today's edition in "Celebration Blue."
2. Satan is waiting by the phone for Bush's call.
And the number reaction to Karl Rove's resignation is . . .
1. Michael Moore laughed so hard that he choked to death on a chicken bone.

In baseball's worst division, the NL Central, the Cubs and Brewers, both of whom are barely over .500, are fighting it out for first place, with the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals right behing the pair.
While I was running yesterday downtown yesterday, a race was taking place nearby, and a Cheesehead yelled out "Go Brewers!" Of which I yelled back, "Go Brewers, Go White Sox," annoying the Cubs fans with me.
Posted by: John Ruberry at August 13, 2007 06:45 PMJohn - Annoying the Cubs fans . . . NICE!
Posted by: Wyatt Earp at August 13, 2007 07:03 PMWyatt, I disagree the number 1 reaction is Al Gore admits global warming is nothing but a money making scheme to pad his pockets.
Posted by: Mike at August 13, 2007 09:01 PMWouldn't that be Morley Schaeffer shaving Katie's head?
Posted by: RT at August 13, 2007 10:41 PMI have a hard time giving this Rove thing anything beyond a yawn. Although I do think it good that he left the White House under his own terms and defused the Dems' biggest screaming point. But they'll find another, of course.
In the meantime, I think he's gonna make HUGE bank writing books and giving speeches. Plus, he'll probably throw his hat in the ring with one of the Repub candidates for '08.
It's gonna be interesting.
Posted by: Reverse_Vampyr at August 14, 2007 10:11 AMAnd what makes ANYONE with an ounce of intelligence think that George W. Bush wouldn't pick up the phone from time to time AFTER September 1st should he feel the need to do so and give ole Karl a call? And if the Dems don't like it - they can go suck a rotten egg. I'm am so SICK of their whining!
Posted by: Gayle Miller at August 14, 2007 11:03 AMMike - Sweet! He also uses the profits to install groovy shag carpet in his lear jet.
RT - Thanks. Now I need brain bleach.
RV - The Dems are definitely making a much bigger deal out of this than it deserves. However, if it gets their undies in a bunch, I'm all for it! :)
Gayle - I have a feeling GWB will be keeping Karl's phone number close to his heart for when the occasion presents itself.
Posted by: Wyatt Earp at August 14, 2007 03:13 PM5. Dick Cheney became Google's top search for "Evil Conservative."
That's gotta be the best one outta the whole lot of 'em. Great list, by the way!
