Conservatives: Licking Their Wounds or Looking Ahead?

My article on Pajamas Media today:

Will Republicans en masse put principle over party in November? It’s a valid question, seeing as on Super Tuesday there were 14 million votes cast by Democrats, compared to only 8 million by Republicans, indicating a crisis of conscience among the GOP. And core Republicans pride themselves on their support of certain principles, including limited government, pro-life, strong national defense, and the Second Amendment. While John McCain falls into line with many of these, a good number of conservatives think his willingness to “reach across the aisle” means more than simply working with Democrats on key issues — it’s working against Republicans. Charges of RINO (Republican in Name Only) are frequently uttered in the same sentence as McCain’s name. The old “maverick” meme rears its ugly head yet again.

Just to say my two cents, yes, I will vote for McCain, simply because he is infinitely smarter than Hillary and Barry combined, to the twentieth power, actually. I honestly do not believe that he shares their hatred of the core principals of this country. It's a helluva note when the Republicans do select the dumbest of their candidates and deny someone like Duncan Hunter. Telling.

I woke up this morning early and posted a random list of my thoughts about our "collective" philosophy simply because of Obama's idiotic 4000 dollar tax credit for college students stunned me into a drooling fit yesterday. People championed his idea of "giving" this tax credit to other people that generally do not even owe a quarter of that. The money yet again comes from the workers that produce, the growing minority. Of course the stipulation is to "sacrifice" for the collective with service in the Peace Corps and their ilk. Our country has stumbled and will cave if someone doesn't look back to read our Constitution and comprehend what it says. It is just two short pages, have we forgotten that?

It ain't the Democrats that will attempt that, and it appears that Republicans ain't gonna do it either. Where to go, what to do?

Never doubt her intelligence. Her Royal C is indeed intelligent. Anyone who went to Wellesley and then graduated from Yale with a law degree is not stupid.

She's also a full-fledged s*o*c*i*a*l*i*s*t. She craves that power above all else.

However, she also has a tin ear politically, partly due to her sense of entitlement. It's her tin ear which keeps her from sailing effortlessly into the Oval Office.

Obama, on the other hand, is just as that-"S"-word, but he is also a smooth talker. I'm not certain how intelligent he is or if he has more brass than HRC.

They are both to be feared: HRC for her ruthlessness in advancing her "S"-word agenda, and Obama for his obvious naiveté in foreign affairs.

This year's presidential race reminds of the tagline from the movie Aliens vs. Predator: "whoever wins, we lose."

In the big states, like the one I live in, the GOP races weren't competitive, hence the lower turnout.

I'm doing my part to make the Dems, particularly Obama, less attractive in November.

Now why didn't I consider misspelling the "S" word? Very clever, Paul :)
