there's a big difference between opening negotiations with hostile foreign nations (what obama wants to do) and the positive effect such talks have had (see China and the Soviet Union) and giving away an incredibly important part of a nation to an enemy looking to attack (what Chamberlain did).

but i wouldn't expect you to be able to see the difference.
