Obama in 2001: How to Bring About ‘Redistributive Change’

Before there was Joe the Plumber there was this 2001 radio interview, where Barack Obama explains what he means by the “redistribution of wealth” and the court’s role in bringing it about:

First of all, that's not entirely true. One court decision, for example, led to the payments of african american farmers who were denied payments through the federal gov't's dept. of agriculture. In the south, the white administrators of the program denied payments to blacks while making payments to whites.

To describe the the redistribution of wealth back to blacks who were denied it because of their race as socialism is ludicrous.

Socialism is what Sarah Palin did in Alaska, taking money from oil companies and making direct payments to Alaskans, payments which the rest of the country subsidizes.

Talk about that.
