If the Shoe Fits...
This is my latest for FSM:
The glee with which so many Americans have savored this insult to President Bush is, frankly, nauseating. Regardless of your opinion of the man, he is our president, our Commander-in-Chief. Watching the television coverage on CNN – believe me, I had no choice – I noted that my companions were not upset about it all, and were parroting the “biggest insult in the Middle East” line conveniently fed to them. So I asked them how the same news would be received had it been Obama behind the podium instead of Bush.

I would have that shoe bronzed and hung up in my Presidential Library. Our President is one of the most funny guys and his sense of humor and sincerity is remarkable. If having a shoe thrown at you is the worst insult in that part of the world it would be in a lot better shape. They hurl bullets with an AK-47 and RPG's with ease. I think we should hurl the entire country our of our lives and leave them to find their own way to live. If we had spent as much money on alternative methods to heat our homes and to power our cars as we have spent on the war we could ignore the oil they have. MUD
