Happy Birthday, Mr. President!

Today is George W. Bush's birthday. Please join me in saluting a man of integrity and determination.

According to his official White House biography, he was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and grew up in Midland and Houston, Texas. We all know he went to Yale (and got better grades than you-know-who), served in the Texas Air National Guard during Vietnam, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1975.

He served as governor of Texas from 1994 to 2000 before becoming our 43rd president, moving into the Oval Office in January of 2001.

Surely you know the rest. He has been steadfast in his opposition to terrorism by Islamofascists, and is determined to stay in Iraq until the job is done. He could be doing more to make our borders more secure, and he could use a more restraining hand with our budget, but no one's perfect. He has his detractors, but he has the support of the majority of the American people. If he didn't, we'd be celebrating President John Kerry's birthday this year.

Happy birthday, Mr. President...may you have many more.
