Gloria Steinem Finds a New Cause...Guantanamo

Apparently, Gloria Steinem doesn't want to go down in history as a one-trick pony.

Ms. Steinem was part of a protest over the weekend to demand the closure of the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay. Of course, being a member of the radical Left, Steinem used the history of our early settlers and revolutionaries as a comparison for the vermin being held at Gitmo:

Steinem compared Guantanamo to the kind of autocratic rule early colonists were trying to flee.

"They came to escape the very things Ñ detention without due process, bias, a religious government ... that we protest today," Steinem said.

One wonders if Steinem had ever thought of starting a protest when U.S. citizens and those of other nations were taken prisoner and then decapitated by Islamofascists.

According to the article, Rachel Meeropol, granddaughter of convicted spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, has filed a lawsuit challenging these detentions.

How nice! Next she'll be offering to go down and serve the prisoners tea and cookies.

Earth to Steinem and Meeropol: The detainees are not U.S. citizens. They are prisoners of war. The point of keeping them locked up is so that they will not return to fight against us, as some have done. This has been a strategy of war since the Middle Ages. Perhaps Steinem and pals would prefer us to slaughter those we capture as was done in antiquity?

I know feminism didn't really turn out the way you thought it would, Gloria, seeing as men haven't yet been transformed into a subservient species to be exploited by women, but you really should stick to what you know. Trying to reinvent yourself only works for Madonna...and she hasn't been doing such a hot job of it lately.
