He Made "Bad Decisions"
A youth pastor in Texas was given the death sentence for killing a 17-year-old girl and her fetus (she was three months pregant and the child was his). A 2003 Texas law amended that "individual" be replaced with an unborn child at every stage of gestation from fertilization until birth." So under Texas law, Adrian Estrada killed not one, but two people.
Good. But get this:
Estrada's attorney, Suzanne Kramer, had argued that her client made bad decisions.
"It that enough to execute him? Is that enough to kill him?" she asked the jury.
I would say so. His "bad decisions" took the life of a girl whom he had also made the "bad decision" of having sex with. The girl also made a "bad decision" to have sex with him, but she didn't deserve to die for it, and neither did their unborn child.
Wonder what NOW will make of this?

Yeah, that lawyer chick. What a disgrace!
Bush/Cheney and a whole bunch of ass-kissing career military misfits made bad decisions in Afghanistan and Iraq and took the lives and destroyed the families of thousands of future Burger King managers, American gun-nut morons, American right-wing idiots, patriotic American baboons, Iraqis and Afghanis at the wrong place at the wrong time, kids, dogs, fish and fowl. And bugs. And a fetus or two. They made bad decisions that left us with thousands really effed-up, drug-addicted cripples who aren't getting the help they need here at home.
And all you can complain about is a lawyer's pitch and Pelosi's mode of air travel.
No wonder you lost the election.
Posted by: bloodstomper at February 8, 2007 02:42 PMYou're right, bloodstomper. We're the ones that are to blame for veterans not getting the care they deserver.
But then again, who was it that said the troops owe us gratitude for not abandoning them? Was it someone on the right? I just can't seem to remember...
Posted by: RFTR at February 8, 2007 06:16 PMBloodstomper as a Veteran I have saved the spit I received for my duty to this country. Just tell me where I can deliver it to you,as a matter of fact I know several other Veterans that would like to return theirs as well.
Posted by: Mike at February 8, 2007 09:37 PMSurely you "gentlemen" could take your pissing contest elsewhere since clearly you cannot comment on topic!
This man made "bad decisions"? No - he MURDERED 2 people and deserves to pay for it. And no amount of "moral equivalency" assinity is going to change that fact.
And just a passing opnion, bloodstomper, but have you gone off your meds?
bloodstomper, you are illustrative of exactly why no one believes that those who call themselves liberals, progressives or Democrats really support the troops.
Posted by: JimK at February 9, 2007 09:13 PMIf you don't believe in God, if you don't believe in an afterlife, than I guess it's a moral imperative to impart perfect justice in this world. Unfortunately, it isn't possible for humans to "know" the heart and minds and souls of other humans, so perfect justice in this world simply isn't possible.
If the law can be ignored because someone has some individual flaw (nature/nurture), then why bother making laws? I'm content to render judgement according to the law, and let God render perfect justice in the afterlife.
Of course, if you don't believe in an afterlife, then you also have to believe that this life is all you have, and as a result, life itself becomes a god...the supreme gift. Nevermind that eventually we all _will_ die...no doubt they'll find a way to avoid that eventually.
