Dodd Receives Some Celebrity Support

Chris Dodd, Connecticut's other senator, has received some celebrity support in his bid for the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination. Those on the list include:

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward
Chevy Chase
Jimmy Buffett
Alec Baldwin
Elisabeth Shue
Peter Duchin (orchestra leader)
Dick Ebersol and Susan St. James

There were also some producers and other behind-the-scene types who donated. In all, celebs are responsible for $3.25 million in contributions thus far, but with the exception of Newman/Woodward and (ugh) Alec Baldwin, the other people listed above are not exactly A-list folks who garner headlines when they talk about who they'd like to win. In addition, people with lots of political cash to toss around often give to more than one candidate.

I don't expect these donations will do much for Dodd's campaign.

I thought Chevy Chase was backing Raul Castro this election.

Just looking at Dodd's face makes me want to hurl! A demagogue for sure. And probably unhinged as well.
